In early 2002, N.C. Children’s Hospital and Curtis Media Group formed a partnership to raise funds for the hospital through a campaign called “The N.C. Children’s Promise.” The first N.C. Children’s Promise event later that year—a radiothon featuring several Curtis Media Group stations broadcasting live from the lobby—raised nearly $200,000, one phone call at a time.

Third Party Events
Promise events are an important component of raising funds for the Children’s Hospital, but equally important are our third party events, or those organized by supporters in the community. They range from those that raise tens of thousands of dollars, events like the Krispy Kreme Challenge or Reelin’ for Research, to much smaller events like bake sales and coin drives.
